Mango Bay

Mango Bay, also known as Ao Muang, is a popular dive site located on the northwest coast of Koh Tao, Thailand. This sheltered bay provides an ideal environment for beginner divers and snorkelers, while still offering plenty for more experienced divers. The site is known for its shallow coral reefs, sandy bottom, and diverse marine life.

Mango Bay is easily accessible from the beach or by a short boat ride from Mae Haad Pier. This dive site is particularly suitable for novice divers or those looking to refresh their skills, ideal for divers with a CMAS * or Open Water (OW) certification. The average depth in Mango Bay is around 6 meters (20 feet), with a maximum depth of about 16 meters (52 feet).
Currents in this bay are typically weak to moderate, ranging from 0 to 1 knot, providing relaxed and comfortable diving conditions. Visibility is generally fair to good, usually between 5 meters (16 feet) and 20 meters (66 feet), depending on the season and weather conditions.
Mango Bay features a gradually sloping sandy bottom with scattered coral formations and boulders, which provide a home to a variety of marine life.

The shallow parts of the bay are also excellent for snorkelers, making it a great spot for mixed groups of divers and snorkelers.
