Gamul Kebir

Reef Structure: Gamul Kebir features a U-shaped reef that encloses a lagoon, providing some shelter from strong winds and waves. To the north, there are several coral pinnacles, while the southern part of the reef is generally calmer and suitable for diving even during windy conditions

Depth and Conditions: The site has a maximum depth of approximately 16 meters (52 feet), making it accessible for divers of various experience levels. Visibility is typically good, ranging from 10 to 30 meters, and currents are usually mild

Dive Planning Tips

  • Access: The site is reachable by boat, typically within 25 to 30 minutes from Safaga

  • Recommended Equipment: A wetsuit appropriate for the season, dive computer, and a surface marker buoy are advisable. A camera is also recommended to capture the vibrant marine life.

  • Training Level: Suitable for Open Water Divers and above, given the site’s depth and conditions
