Shaab Claudia, also known as Shaab Claude or Shaab Claudio, is a captivating dive site located in the Fury Shoals region of Egypt’s southern Red Sea, near Marsa Alam. • Cave and Coral Garden Dive: Begin at the southern cave entrance around 10 meters deep, explore the chambers, and exit into the western coral garden.

• Drift Dive: Start from the northeast blocks and drift along the eastern or western sides, enjoying the natural spectacle and diverse marine life.

• Cave and Cavern Systems: The southern part of the reef boasts a mesmerizing network of caves and swim-throughs. Divers can explore two main chambers connected by multiple passages, with sunlight filtering through openings to create stunning light displays.

• Coral Gardens: The western side features expansive hard coral gardens, while the eastern side offers impressive coral growth without a distinct garden.

• Marine Life: Home to a diverse array of species, including batfish, triggerfish, bannerfish, snappers, groupers, surgeonfish, and the occasional napoleon wrasse. Macro enthusiasts can find anemones, clownfish, and various invertebrates

• Location: Approximately 13 km off the Egyptian coast, east of Abu Galawa Kebir, in the Fury Shoals region.

• Access: Primarily by boat; often included in liveaboard itineraries.

• Depth: Ranges from 3 to 24 meters, making it suitable for divers of various experience levels.

• Visibility: Typically excellent, ranging from 25 to 80 meters depending on the season.

• Currents: Generally low to medium, though can be stronger on the western side

  • Best Time to Dive: Year-round, with optimal conditions during the summer months when water temperatures range from 28°C to 31°C.

  • Recommended Gear: A 5 mm full wetsuit is advisable due to varying water temperatures.
