Shark Point

Shark Point Gili Islands is one of the most famous dive sites in the Gili Islands, known for its crystal-clear waters, thriving marine life, and the chance to encounter reef sharks in their natural habitat. Located just off the coast of Gili Trawangan, this spot attracts both beginner and experienced divers seeking an unforgettable underwater experience.

Despite its name, Shark Point is not dangerous—most of the sharks found here are harmless blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, often seen gracefully gliding over coral reefs. The site features a mix of coral gardens, sandy patches, and deeper drop-offs, creating a diverse ecosystem that also supports sea turtles, reef fish, and occasional rays.

Visibility is typically excellent, often reaching 20–30 meters, making it ideal for underwater photography and relaxed exploration. The currents can vary from gentle to moderate, so conditions are usually suitable for snorkelers during calm periods and for divers year-round with proper guidance.

Shark Point is especially popular for morning dives when marine life is most active. Whether you’re diving beneath the surface or snorkeling above, it offers a vivid glimpse into the rich biodiversity of Indonesia’s tropical waters and remains a highlight of any trip to the Gili Islands.
