Turtle City

Turtle City Gili Islands is one of the most beloved diving spots in the Gili Islands, especially famous for its frequent and close encounters with sea turtles. Located off the coast of Gili Meno, this site offers calm, shallow waters and a sandy seabed dotted with coral patches—perfect conditions for spotting turtles grazing or resting.

As its name suggests, Turtle City is home to a thriving population of green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles, often seen gliding slowly through the water or feeding on seagrass. Encounters here are common and often happen at relatively shallow depths, making it an ideal location for beginners, casual snorkelers, and families.

Beyond turtles, the site features a diverse marine ecosystem with colorful reef fish, soft corals, and occasional reef creatures like moray eels and small rays. Visibility is typically very good, and currents are usually mild, creating a relaxed and accessible underwater experience.

Turtle City is not just about wildlife—it’s also about the atmosphere. The gentle conditions and high chance of turtle sightings make it one of the most memorable and rewarding spots in the Gili Islands for anyone wanting a close, respectful look at marine life in its natural environment.
